601 Lafayette

Situated along the gateway to Pie Town, an elemental structure and composed building form reflects the surrounding environment and skies, with a dynamic interplay of light, shadow, and scale. For a holistic civic presence from street to residential tower, the continuous façade eliminates the distinction between the living, service zones, and parking floors. Deep vertical white ribs accentuate the slender and geometric proportions of the 32-story building, sculpting light and shadow throughout the day, while in between these structural ribs, blue-tinted glass and glazed ceramic panels amplify the hues of the Tennessee skies. Sustainable strategies for energy efficiency including natural ventilation, daylighting, shading, and native plantings are woven into the planning throughout the building.
