Grand Traiano Art Complex

Located in the hill town of Grottaferrata, twenty kilometers south of Rome, the site of the twenty-four thousand square meter Grand Traiano Art Complex offers an urban model of dispersal and curation to instigate the regeneration of an abandoned historic site. The project transforms a derelict nineteenth century villa, an abandoned twentieth century hotel, apartments, and studios into a diverse mixed-use environment of new art exhibition spaces, creative offices, and private residences. The site is characterized by a park and a network of plazas, gardens, and pedestrian paths.
